Whenever I need a
char kway teow or a
cendul (cendol?) fix, I head to these two stalls (FC7 & FC9) found at the
Anjung Selera, located in the
Giant Hypermarket at Section 13. Here the Penang char kway teow tastes authentic
Penang mali. So also the cendul, which is after all the 'Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul (sic)'. In fact we had been patronising these stalls even way before we moved to Shah Alam and A was still studying at UiTM. Believe me, the taste has not changed at all - still yummy after all these years!
There is also a
'rojak pasembur Penang' cart/stall at the same venue and the taste is fairly good. It is a meal on its own, and not a starter. I found this out when I ordered it and also the char kway teow, which I had to
tapau (takeaway) in the end.
*Update: 2014 - This is now the refurbished 'Food Terrace'. The stalls remain almost the same. The price of food/meals here has of course gone up.
